Facebook Now Offers More Than Just a Like…

One thing we Facebook users have complained about for years is that posts only ever had a single "like" option. What we actually wanted was a dislike, or something else, anything — just a proper way to show what we felt with a single click.

Facebook must have finally heard us, because it's added new options alongside the "like" (thumbs up) button under posts.

There's still no dislike (thumbs down) option, but at least we now have emojis at our fingertips to express, in more detail, how we feel about a post beyond simply liking it.

In a statement, Mark Zuckerberg explained that the reason they didn't add a dislike button is that they didn't want to turn Facebook into a place where posts get put to a vote.

To use Facebook's new like button, on a computer you just need to hover your cursor over the "like" button and wait; on the mobile app, press and hold the "like" button instead.

Here's hoping the new Facebook emojis serve us all well.
